Top AI model creators
Who is actually shipping the open-weight models people use? This is our own count: every Civitai creator with a model in the catalog, ranked by the combined heat of their listed models.
Data updated 2026-10-21
How the ranking works: a creator's score is the rank-weighted average of the heat scores of their models listed here: the hottest model counts in full, the second half, the third a third, and so on. The score can never be higher than one model's own heat (9,999 at most), so listing more models does not lift it; only hotter models do. Heat combines downloads, likes, download velocity and usage on open hosts, and it is recomputed with every catalog update. It is not Civitai's leaderboard: creators whose work is not in this catalog are not listed, and NSFW models count only when the NSFW switch is on.

ModelTrends.ai tracks the people behind open-weight AI image, video and text models. Each creator's score is the rank-weighted average heat of their models listed in the catalog, the hottest counting most, so it ranks quality rather than quantity; the figures come from Civitai and the open hosts the catalog follows and are recomputed on every update. Open a name to browse that creator's models, or follow the Civitai link to their profile.
